Carolina Beach
and Kure Beach

Most of the shopping on Pleasure Island — Carolina Beach and Kure Beach — is concentrated in Carolina Beach. In addition to a number of chain "beach" stores, Carolina Beach boasts a variety of year-round specialty shops, and more are added each year. Keep in mind that winter months mean shortened or limited hours for many retail businesses. Call ahead so you won't be disappointed by a "closed" sign.EGF 06-19-08

Christmas items, many with a nautical theme, are available year-round, as is a beautiful, 100-percent-cotton afghan that portrays the Pleasure Island coastline and wildlife found in the area.
