We think that our meteor showers provide some of the best nighttime entertainment anywhere. Make a point to spend some time outside looking up at the skies--you're guaranteed at least some shooting stars. The meteor showers are most visible in early August.

Remember the legal blood-alcohol threshold in North Carolina is .08--just a few drinks. Police scout the roads closely for drunken drivers. Don't take a chance--call a cab or designate a driver.

A good source for entertainment options is 99.1 The Sound radio station. They have daily updates on who's performing and where.

Outer Banks Music and other local shops carry a fair selection of recordings by Outer Banks musicians. So if you hear a group or a soloist while out on the town, you just might be able to take some of that sound home with you.
