Brantley's Village Restaurant

Brantley's Village
Restaurant may be one of the most interesting stories in Oriental. The
Normans owned this restaurant in 1978 and cooked delicious meals for folks
for about 15 years. Now they're back — Brantley Jr., Brantley Sr. and Ms.
Sil reopened the family-style restaurant about two years ago and are holding
true to their motto: Good food, good price, good service. No alcoholic
beverages — this is truly a family restaurant. Among the many reasons to
love this restaurant are their special entree nights. On Tuesday night, try
all-you-can-eat fried chicken with two vegetables for $7.95. On Friday
nights, prepare for some good country cooking with slow-cooked roast beef
and a choice of two other meats, which might include barbecue, fried
chicken, baked chicken, ham or popcorn shrimp, four or five different
vegetables, beets, coleslaw, potato salad, dessert and beverage for $9.95.
On Saturday evening, enjoy an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet with shrimp,
oysters, flounder, bay scallops, clam strips, deviled crabs and an array of
vegetables with drink and dessert for $15.95. Other specials are offered
nightly. Be sure to try the homemade soups, all made by Ms. Sil, the
matriarch of the restaurant. Ms. Sil also bakes the chocolate, lemon and
coconut meringue pies. The restaurant is open year round. Hours are Monday
through Thursday 7 AM to 8:30 PM, Friday and Saturday 7 AM until 9
PM. Brantley's has a large banquet room for meetings, parties or family
gatherings.

One of
Oriental's long-time favorite chefs, Chef Jeff Tomczak continues to please
his customers with interesting specials and old-time favorites. Many
residents still remember the wood stove in the historic brick hardware store
where the restaurant is located. The seafood couldn't be fresher, and the
Seafood Nirvana is just that. This restaurant is open for dinner nightly,
and lunch on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We recommend the pasta dishes
and the homemade desserts. A full-service bar and live entertainment in
season keep the customers coming back. It's also available for large
parties, monthly Rotary meetings and bridge club luncheons.

Toucan Grill & Fresh Bar gives diners the option
to eat indoors in the spacious and attractively decorated dining room or
outside on the deck enjoying the breezes and views of the water. The menu is
appropriate for a restaurant located in a fishing village. Seafood dishes
offered as either appetizers or entrees include clam chowder, cold shrimp
cocktail, crab cakes, fish & chips and fried shrimp. Try the steamed platter

an old fisherman's tradition, cooked in a light broth with potatoes and a
variety of fish of the day. The restaurant always serves locally caught
shrimp. Those with a yearning for something other than seafood should
consider the hot buffalo wings, Black Angus rib eye steaks cut to order, and
full and half racks of barbecue ribs. There are specials every night. If
