emotional and behavioral problems, mental illness and chemical dependencies
for individuals of all ages through full hospitalization and residential

Services Onslow Carteret Behavioral Healthcare
Services assists individuals in need of services for mental health,
developmental disabilities or substance abuse. This service is provided
through a wide variety of individually tailored methods, including handling
emergency situations. It supports both insured and uninsured individuals.
Patients may refer themselves or can be referred by a family member, school,
court system representative, minister, physician or other area agency. The
services also offers a 24-hour emergency response line.

Urgent and General Medical CareBeach Care Medical Care Center From colds to cardiac problems, Beach Care treats emergencies, offers
primary care and performs minor surgery. The center has in-house lab and
X-ray services. It is staffed by a full-time physician and a physician's
assistant and is open Monday though Saturday 9 AM to 9 PM and Sunday 9 AM to
5 PM. The Doctor's Office Although not an urgent care center, this facility offers primary care to
its patients and accepts walk-ins. The Doctor's Office has convenient
hours that run 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Saturday with lab hours from 8
to 9 AM. The facility is open on Saturdays from 9 AM to 2 PM for walk-ins,
not appointments. Eastern Carteret Medical Center Eastern Carteret Medical Center, a subsidiary of Carteret General
Hospital, provides treatment of minor emergencies and illnesses and
offers complete family care. Appointments are available and walk-ins are
worked in as quickly as possible. It is open from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM
on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The center closes for lunch
from noon to 1 PM. ECIM Private/Urgent Medical Care The ECIM office in Cape Carteret provides primary care along with
urgent medical care for patients in Carteret County and surrounding
areas. Emergency-trained physicians and physician assistants at ECIM
Urgent Medical Care, part of the ECIM network based in New Bern, provide
treatment for minor emergencies and family medical needs. Hours of
operation are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5 PM. Appointments may be
scheduled for primary care; however, no appointment is necessary for
urgent medical care. 3332 Bridges St., Ste. 3B, Morehead City (252) 808-0145 The Heart Center of Eastern Carolina is a full-service
cardiology practice featuring the most up-to-date services in the diagnosis,
treatment and prevention of cardiac and vascular diseases. These
cardiologists offer patients many kinds of non-invasive and invasive
treatments: diagnostic catheterization, balloon angioplasty, nuclear
cardiology, peripheral vascular disease treatments, atherectomy, stent
placement, pacemaker implant and follow-up echocardiology, hypertension
treatment, ECP therapy and lipid management. Electrophysiology, nutrition
consultations as well as clinical research trials are also included in their
services. Patients are seen by referral and appointment. The Heart Center of
Eastern Carolina also has an office in New Bern (see our
New Bern Healthcare chapter). Med Center One This privately owned facility treats minor emergencies
and offers primary general medical care. The facility offers an in-house
X-ray service and a dispensing pharmacy for patients of record. Med
Center One can provide services for vacationers on a walk-in basis and
also accepts patients for primary care. Hours are Monday through
Saturday 9 AM to 6 PM. Seasonal Sunday hours are noon to 4 PM. Newport Family Practice Center Since the nearest emergency room and hospital facilities
are in Morehead City or New Bern, Newport Family Practice Center offers
a needed service in the Newport community. This privately owned clinic,
which has in-house X-ray and lab facilities as well as a pharmacy next
door, is open from Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM and Saturday
from 8:30 to 11:30 AM. The center prefers seeing patients who have made
appointments in advance but will accept walk-ins in an emergency. Nova Pain Management This business is in New Bern, but many Crystal Coast residents are willing to make the drive for its services. Licensed acupuncturist Toni Rittenberg began studying acupuncture at the age of 11 in her hometown of Beijing, China. After graduating from medical school in China, she moved the United States to complete her post-doctoral work at Harvard University. Toni served as Dean of Facility at an acupuncture school in Oakland, California, before moving to New Bern. She has been engaged in private practice in New Bern for 11 years. She offers authentic Chinese acupuncture as a proven and effective way to treat many medical conditions. A full Chinese herbal pharmacy is also located on-site. Seaside Family Practice of Beaufort offers a variety of
healthcare services for children and adults of all ages. Included in
those services are full physicals, commercial drivers license (CDL)
physicals, school physicals and women's health physicals. It also
provides a wide range of sick care, injury care and suture care and
removal. The practice specializes in management of chronic diseases and
provides cryotherapy and respiratory treatments. Seaside Family Practice
is currently accepting new patients and accepts most insurance coverage.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM with
extended hours on Tuesday until 6:30 PM.
